  • Maenam — quiet, clean beach, close to schools in the north, friendly community.
  • Bophut — well-developed infrastructure, market, restaurants, schools nearby.

Children's visas: children are usually included in a parent's Non-O visa or obtain their own Non-ED. Birth certificates and certified translations are required for school enrolment and immigration.

Shipping belongings: large items are most cost-effectively transported by sea container via Bangkok (Klong Toey port) with onward delivery to Samui, typically taking 2–4 weeks.
