NDL Speciality: Nitrox Diver Diving

Very often, after finishing the entry-level course our graduates continue their training, improving their skills and acquiring specialities.
Our office is located in a convenient, easy-to-reach place. Diving classes are held in a spacious, bright, well-equipped classroom.

NDL is the first and only Russian training system certified by the EUF (European Underwater Federation) to the international EN and ISO standards. At our school (or rather, our partners' school) classes are held for all training programmes of this system.

First, let us define the terms.

So what exactly is Nitrox?
As we already know, the main components of the air around us are nitrogen and oxygen. Nitrogen is called Nitrogen and denoted by the letter N; oxygen is Oxygen, denoted by O. The mixture of these gases was named Nitrox, as a blend of the words Nitrogen and Oxygen. Ordinary air contains 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen. In diving, Nitrox mixtures with an elevated oxygen content from 20% to 40% are used.

Why dive with Nitrox?
Increasing the percentage of oxygen in the breathing mixture and, correspondingly, reducing the nitrogen allows a diver to stay at depth substantially longer. In other words, the less nitrogen in the mixture, the less the body's tissues become saturated with it and the lower the risk of decompression sickness. Using a Nitrox mixture with an elevated oxygen content also reduces the danger of nitrogen narcosis (nitrogen intoxication).

The NDL Nitrox Diver course lets you acquire diving skills using the nitrox breathing mixture. Any diver who has received the NDL DIVER certificate or an equivalent may start the course programme.
The theoretical part contains information on the purpose and particularities of using the Nitrox breathing mixture.
The practical part consists of mastering skills for working with Nitrox.
Upon completion of the course the NDL Nitrox Diver certificate is issued.

The NDL Nitrox Diver qualification allows you to:
• properly plan dives using cylinders filled with a Nitrox mixture;
• safely increase the number of dives and shorten the surface intervals between them.
