New Thaistyle 103-14

1 bedroom Maenam Мэнам from 12,000 THB/night

At a reasonable, but not critical, distance from the island's Main Road lies the most pleasant part of Maenam. Here it is not so noisy, not at all dusty, and free of the bustling traffic and the rumble of trucks. The houses are hidden in the shade of palms; along the side road leading to the resort there are useful spots such as laundries and inexpensive Thai cafes. The sea is a bit far — just over a kilometre — but with a rented scooter this distance does not deserve special attention.

The resort was built in 2015 — rather, completed. Earlier, the owner's house and a couple of houses permanently occupied by long-term European residents already stood here. The three new one-bedroom houses were built quite recently. The resort territory is fenced with a metre-and-a-half fence with a sliding gate; there are two large covered parking canopies, and the central part of the resort is occupied by the flower beds of the owner's house. Around the new houses there is still little greenery, but in jungle and tropical conditions this drawback is usually overgrown within a few months.

The houses are new — the furniture inside has not even been brought in yet. The owners are very reasonable people, so they are ready to provide any missing items on the condition that they like you — the main rule of Thailand. Be friendly and you will have everything the Thais have! You can bring your own furniture, or for an extra 3,000 baht a month the owners will deliver everything new — bought on credit. An excellent option for those planning to spend at least three months on the island and preferring not to sleep on second-hand mattresses.
